Sussex Women are this year's County Champions beating Yorkshire in the play off final at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes. This is the sixth time in the last ten years that Sussex have won the County Championship.
Sussex finished top of the County Championship table winning six of their eight matches which is a 50 over competition. The rules of the competition are that there is a play off with the team finishing second to decide the Championship.
Sussex lost the toss and were put into bat by Yorkshire. In their 50 overs Sussex made 242 for 4. Sussex were 99 for 4 then an unbeaten partnership of 143 by Captain and England Wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor 128 not out and 16 year old Izzi Collis 51 not out. This was Izzy's first 50 for the Senior Team doing it in style with a 6.
In reply Yorkshire made 147 all out with Sussex winning by 95 runs. Holly Colvin took 3 for 26 with 4 run outs. This was a good all round performance with every member of the team contributing.
Team: Sarah Taylor-Captain, Arran Brindle-Vice Captain, Georgia Adams, Izzy Collis, Holly Colvin, Freya Davis Chiara Green, Izi Noakes, Hannah Phelps, Paige Schofield, Alexia Walker Also in the finals squad Sophie Parnell and Rebecca Silk.
